Book Review: Nicholas Sparks' The Choice 11

The Beacon, Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre, PA

2 hours ago by Nicole Frail

Warning: some spoilers in this review I believe that New York Times best selling author Nicholas Sparks is one of the only men in the world who could make cheating in a relationship sound like a romantically fantastic idea. Unless, of course, the act of infidelity inevitably resulted in a nine month long coma.

Students, faculty and staff gathered in front of the West building on May 1, also known as May Day or International Workers day, in a composed, yet strong rally and teach-in against the war and the affects that it is having on U.S. citizens. For the Pitt News

Throughout her life, Meghan Freas loved to learn about languages. In high school, she studied German, Latin, Arabic and Spanish and enrolled in the Harrisburg Area Community College during her senior year to take two additional semesters of Arabic.

"Let's go Pitt," then, "F--- the cops," the mob chanted, caught on a YouTube video. Pitt students and their friends ran in front of the camera, danced around two blazing fires in the middle of the street and screamed in the background.

The crowd overflowed porches and balconies, spread across the front yards and congested traffic on Semple Street in the early afternoon April 18.

There was a moment in Talib Kweli's much-hyped performance at Hunter where he paused to let the crowd recite his lyrics for him. His gesture left most of the crowd confused over the words to Kanye West's verse on "Get'm High," and left the rest of the crowd in silence, since they simply didn't know the words.

CUNY Admissions Dip Garners Mixed Response

The Hunter Envoy, Hunter College, NY

Controversy continues to mount over the ever-rising bar for gaining admission to CUNY senior colleges.

The beginning of this year marked the implementation of the toughest admissions requirements since the 1998 termination of CUNY's open admissions. CUNY's 2007 decision to raise the required cutoff for SAT and New York State Regents math scores went into effect this past admissions season, with a higher cutoff for SAT and New York State Regents verbal scores soon to follow.
